Job Title: Spanish Curriculum Developer 
Job Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Job Location: 1600 Wilson Blvd, Arlington VA. Remote work will not be possible.

Currently, WLC is accepting applicants for a Spanish Curriculum Developer. The developer will assist WLC in developing new and updating old Learning Objects (LOs) for the online system called GLOSS (Global Language Online Support System). GLOSS is an online maintenance and proficiency-enhancing tool for independent language learners.  GLOSS learning objects are lessons in reading and listening comprehension at levels from 1+ to 4 in all final learning objectives topical domains: culture, economy, environment, geography, military, security, politics, science, society, and technology. Designed for independent learners, GLOSS lessons provide instruction similar to what learners would receive in a classroom situation. They are independent language learning units, which are not part of a language course or a curriculum. Each LO has its own objective and provides all the necessary materials, activities, guidance, and explanations, which help the language learner reach the objective within a time frame of one to two hours. GLOSS is integral to the DLI Basic and Post-Basic Programs, including proficiency enhancement programs, the third-semester training, and DLPT5 preparation. GLOSS is indispensable to military linguists in the field for self-structured language proficiency development and maintenance. GLOSS project continues the effort to increase the number of high-quality, interactive LOs in order to align quality-assured language learning and teaching resources with the needs of foreign language learners who study independently or already integrated into U.S. Government or GLOSS Technology Integration academic language programs
Required Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching adult learners the foreign language in an intensive classroom setting (2 or more students).
  2. A minimum of one (1) year of curriculum development experience for adult learners
  3. Experience using GLOSS as a teaching tool
  4. Advanced computer skills. Must be comfortable using developing and publishing software (to be provided by WLC) with minimal guidance 
  5. Must reside in the DC metropolitian area. 
  6. BA/BS, MA/MS, or Ph.D., or foreign equivalent degree(s) in a language, pedagogy or adult learning field
